Penlee House Gallery & Museum in Penzance is the only public museum in Britain dedicated to collecting and exhibiting the paintings of the Newlyn School of Artists, the internationally-renowned group that settled in the nearby fishing village from the 1880s onwards.
The displays also cover 6000 years of history in west Cornwall, from Penwith’s amazing archaeological sites to more recent social history, such as the Newlyn Copper Works.
Penlee House Gallery & Museum is committed to making its collections accessible and exciting. Around 1500 school children per year visit to take part in free activities and there is a changing programme of five exhibitions a year – meaning there is always something new to see and discover.
By giving to the Friends of Penlee House, a registered charity that supports the museum in all its collecting and education work, you are helping the museum to carry on with its inspiring work.
Membership of the Friends of Penlee House costs £14 per year, or £21 for two people living at the same address. To find out more, please click here
