The RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) is the charity that saves lives at sea. It has been around to help those in peril at sea, and more recently on inland waterways, since 1824.

Volunteers make up 95% of our workforce- ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

We provide a 24-hour search and rescue service from 13 lifeboat stations in Cornwall. In 2014, our Cornwall lifeboat crews launched 499 times, rescuing 441 people and saving 27 lives.

In addition, we operate a seasonal lifeguard service with 56 Lifeguard Units in Cornwall alone. In 2014, the RNLI assisted 941 people on Cornish beaches. We also field a specialist Flood Rescue Team ready to respond to severe flooding situations throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland.

No-one knows what the future holds, but we do know that the sea will always be a difficult and dangerous place.

Gifts left to us in Wills are crucial for us being able to save lives at sea in the future and being able to safeguard our courageous volunteer crew.

6 out of 10 launches would not be possible without gifts in Wills. Legacies provide the boats, equipment and training our crew need now and in the future.

A legacy to the RNLI will be more than a gift in your Will. It will save lives at sea because when our crews launch, your gift will go with them.

If you would like to help us save lives at sea by considering a gift in you Will, please email our Gifts in Wills Team at legacy enquiry@rnli.org.uk or call us on 0300 300 0124.

Your legacy is our lifeline.
